CSI St. John’s Church, Perungalathur, traces its humble beginnings to the 1960s, when a few faithful hearts came together to worship under a thatched roof. What began as a small gathering of believers has, through the grace of God and the steadfast prayers of the congregation, grown into the vibrant church family we are today.
We are part of the Church of South India (CSI), formed in 1947 through the union of several Protestant traditions after India’s independence. This unique heritage reflects unity in diversity, bringing together Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Congregational traditions into one body of Christ.
